BOKU
University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU)
BOKU is active in education, applied science and research for water quality management. For this project, the Institute of Sanitary Engineering and Water Pollution Control at the Department of Water, Atmosphere and Environment will be main contributor. The institute accounts for 30 people, half of them scientist, emphasising an integrated approach in the wide range of research disciplines such as water treatment technologies, sustainable water management, measurement and control, aquatic chemistry/microbiology, modelling and strategic planning methods. Other related research topics of the institute include: Resources management for drinking water production, interactions between water quality in the floodplain and bank filtration during the operation of the drinking water abstraction plants, water safety plans, risk management, and on-line monitoring of water quality parameters during drinking water production.Under FP7, BOKU was scientific coordinator for Europe of the NaWaTech project.
BOKU is the European Scientific Coordinator of the PAVITR project and is leading the Framework for PAVITR Concept Implementation and the Interdisciplinary Approach: Strategic Research & Innovation.
