Ecosan Services Foundation (ESF)
The Ecosan Services Foundation is a non-profit organisation with a vast knowledge in the field of Sustainable Sanitation and Water & Wastewater Management and in stakeholder involvement. The approach of ESF is mostly in the participatory planning approach, which brings together the stakeholders from all levels towards the reaching to an agreement and the final implementation of projects. ESF is also implementing tailor-made water optimisation strategies in cooperation with municipalities and private partners. Currently, ESF is involved in the development of several Detailed Project Reports on Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM), Sanitation Action Plans (SAP) etc for the government of India. Moreover, ESF offers improved and full-fledged training courses in Sustainable Sanitation and Water Management (SSWM), Integrated Wastewater and Septage Management (IWSM), Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM), School Sanitation Programs in India. To promote awareness in different sectors of the community, ESF plans and organizes workshops, seminars and conferences thus ESF is a well networked and acts as a promoter and catalyst for many projects in the field of sustainable water management in India.
Ecosan Services Foundation (ESF) is a section 8 non-profit organisation established in 2006 with the support of the Deutsche Gesellschaft fur Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and seecon international and in association with the Innovative Ecological Sanitation Network of India (IESNI). ESF envisions transforming itself into a sustainable key resource centre as a leading knowledge hub in sustainable sanitation and water management. The pursuit for this vision is evident in the objectives the organization has set for itself namely:
- Developing sustainable organizational structure and processes.
- Strengthening our position in capacity development through training, piloting and demonstration, awareness raising, R & D and coaching in new enterprises.
- Strengthen our networking platform with national and international experts in the sector.
- Open dissemination of knowledge through face-to face as well as IT enabled services for institutions and individuals.
- Quality Management and organizational learning to highlight best practices in the sector.
Thanks to a diverse repertoire of prestigious national and international projects, Ecosan Services Foundation has emerged as a huge knowledge resource in the field of ecological sanitation and water & wastewater management. Over the years, the company has been reputed with extensive experience of capacity development, stakeholder involvement, policy building, awareness raising, project implementation and consulting on issues related to water management and sustainable sanitation. With the concept of sustainability so firmly etched in its working system, ESF integrates a vital mix of software and hardware solutions to ensure that every project represents a self-sustaining confluence. Through its dedicated, well informed, technically sound and streamlined staff, ESF promulgates capacity building and training modules of stakeholders while providing specialized cost effective technical engineering solutions.
ESF is involved in the PAVITR Public-Private Working Group, the India- EU Practitioners Exchange Program and the Electronic dissemination and communication.
